A BC lottery player won $5.8M in Wednesday’s Lotto 6/49 draw

If you purchase a lottery ticket in northern British Columbia for Wednesday night’s Lotto 6/49 draw, you could be looking at a life-changing win.

The BCLC has revealed that a ticket purchased in Prince Rupert was one of two tickets, the other being sold in Ontario, to match all six numbers.

That means they will split the $11-million jackpot, which works out to $5,790,420 each.

Whoever holds that ticket sold in Prince Rupert isn’t the only new millionaire in BC, as a ticket purchased through PlayNow.com won the $1-million Guaranteed Prize Draw as well.

“All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize,” explained the BCLC.

“The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winners’ name(s) will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize.”

Winning numbers for Wednesday’s jackpot were 7, 18, 19, 38, 42 and 46. The odds of winning a Lotto 6/49 jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816.

So far in 2021, BC lottery players have redeemed more than $67.5 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49.
