Everyone loves a good snowball fight, but for some children, heading outside to enjoy a fresh snowfall isn’t always possible.
This year, the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation has decided to bring the snow indoors!
Through the Big BC Snowball Fight for Kids, everyone will be able to participate in the largest virtual snowball fight in the province.
On Nov. 13, the virtual snowball fight was kicked off with a toss from three-year-old Thariq.
"Last holiday season, Thariq was very ill and undiagnosed at that point. Cancer was attacking his tiny body and we didn't even know it," said Thariq's mom Shawna.
"He's been through so much in the past year, and we are very thankful to BC Children's Hospital and the work they have put into healing our son. The snow is our favourite place to be. We build giant snowballs the kids can climb, we decorate snowmen and have some pretty epic snowball fights. Cancer or not, this year will be no different."
From now until Jan. 6, 2019, you can donate to the cause.
Each donation made will translate to one snowball to be thrown. And, like any good snowball fight, it is best when everyone joins in!
The BC Children’s Hospital Foundation aims to throw 10,000 snowballs, which would constitute a world record!
