(UPDATE: May 2 @ 4:50 pm) - A seven-year-old Chilliwack girl, who went missing after following a neighbour's dog into a wooded area late Thursday afternoon, has been found.
The Chilliwack RCMP said the young girl "is safe."
"She will be treated for any medical needs as a precaution and reunited with her family," a news release noted.
Police thanked several agencies and the general public for assisting in the search.
The girl's name and photo have been removed from the story for privacy reasons.
(Original story: May 2 @ 6 am) - Mounties in Chilliwack are searching for a missing seven-year-old girl.
They said the girl “apparently followed her neighbour's dogs into a wooded area but did not return with them.”
That happened at about 4 pm on Thursday.
She was on the Winona Road in the city.
Police said a ground and air search is underway for the girl.
They provided the following description:
White
4 ft
Light brown hair
Brown eyes
Last seen wearing pink clothes
