After a five-year investigation, charges have been laid against a dance teacher accused of sexually assaulting several youths between 2006-11.
The RCMP was first alerted to the historical sexual assault allegations against 45-year-old Nigel Brock Jellison, commonly known as Brock Jellison, in 2021.
As the probe progressed, additional youth victims were identified and investigators put together a report that was submitted to the BC Prosecution Service for charge assessment.
On Feb. 12, 2026, Jellison was charged with five counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual exploitation in relation to four female victims.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest and Jellison was taken into police custody in Magrath, Alta., on April 15, 2026.
“He was processed and subsequently released on conditions while awaiting his next court appearance,” an RCMP release notes.
The alleged offenses occurred between 2006-11 while Jellison was teaching at a White Rock dance studio.
Investigators are aware that he’s been associated with other dance studios, but will not be identifying the business that he was working at during those years.
This decision was made due to the historical nature of the allegations and “to avoid any unintended impact on current studio operations,” police explained.
Based on investigative findings, it’s believed that Jellison was more recently teaching dance in Alberta.
“We believe there may be people within our community who were taught by Brock Jellison or attended the local dance studio who have information and have not yet spoken with police,” noted S/Sgt. Rob Dixon.
Anyone with information that could assist with the investigation is urged to contact the White Rock RCMP at 778-545-4800.
