A man in Squamish has been charged after an alleged hit and run involving a pedestrian with a baby stroller last year.
On the evening of April 22, 2024 Squamish RCMP responded to a report that a pedestrian, pushing a stroller with an infant, had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the crosswalk at the intersection of Second Avenue and Pemberton Avenue.
The stroller, which still had the baby inside, was reportedly dragged for two blocks while it was lodged in the front of the vehicle. Amazingly, the child survived the incident.
The pedestrian and child were both injured, and received treatment at a hospital.
On March 11, 2025, Kyle Luca was charged with two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to stop causing bodily harm and dangerous driving.
“We are committed to keeping our communities safe and are pleased that the culmination of this investigation has led to charges,” says Sgt. Dallas Langley of the Sea to Sky RCMP.
