It was a great start to 2025 for self-proclaimed family man Brian Andrus.
The Abbotsford resident scratched his way to a significant windfall after winning Set for Life’s top prize of $675,000.
“It was my day off and I was running errands, and redeeming some tickets from the holidays,” recalled Andrus.
“I found out I won while sitting in my car and had to check the back to make sure I read the rules properly!”
Once he called the BCLC and further validated his ticket at a local gas station, Andrus was excited to tell his wife the news.
“I called her, and she didn’t believe me at first so she asked me to send her a photo,” he explained. “She was so shocked but was so happy once her shock wore off!”
The kids will be shocked too, as the major lottery prize means Andrus can take the family to Disneyland for a trip that has long been in the making.
“My son and daughter have been wanting to go for years, and this win will allow me to surprise them with this trip!”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Walmart on Vedder Way in Abbotsford.
