It didn’t take long for a BC woman to start spending her lottery winnings after taking home a $500,000 lottery win last week.
Mary Clark matched all her numbers to secure one of 13 Maxmillions prizes for the July 28, 2020 Lotto Max draw.
However, one other person had the same winning numbers, which meant Clark had to split the $1-million prize.
The Maple Ridge woman was at home checking her numbers on the computer when she realized her good fortune.
“I was just flummoxed,” Clark said. “I saw the numbers and I thought: am I seeing right?”
Clark quickly claimed her prize and has already, alongside her husband, purchased a new Chevrolet Equinox with some of the prize money.
Now, she’s eyeing some new kitchen appliances as well.
“I plan on spending the money wisely,” she said. “I have been told by my husband that I am frugal.”
Fun fact: Clark won gold in lawn bowling at the 1998 BC Summer Games and the 2001 55+ BC Games!
