According to a police media release, a grey Ford Focus was approaching Prest Road in the eastbound lanes of Hwy 1 when it crashed and rolled into a ditch.
Sadly, the 74-year-old Agassiz woman behind the wheel, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
“At this early stage of the investigation, there are no indications of overt criminality,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin. “Police have already spoken to witnesses, but we would like to find more to ensure the investigation is appropriately thorough.”
