‘It will be a good Christmas’ for BC woman after $1M lotto win

Lindsay Muldoe was visiting family when she noticed the life-changing win.

The Vancouver resident says when she checked her PlayNow account and saw that the balance was $1 million, she “thought it was a mistake.”

“I woke up my mom and then called my husband,” she explained. “They were shocked and excited!”

Muldoe says she has “lots of exciting ideas” on how to spend her winnings from the Lotto 6/49 draw on Oct. 30, which includes buying a new home.

For now, however, she would like to keep things as normal as possible.

And while she wants to maintain the status quo, the timing of the win means that her holiday budget has likely increased just a tad.

“I’m still in shock, but it will be a good Christmas this year,” Muldoe noted.

With just six weeks to go in 2024, BC lottery players have redeemed more than $137 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49 this year.
