It’s an exciting day for Pearl Jam fans.
The band has revealed that their 12th studio album, Dark Matter, will be released on April 19, 2024, and accompanied that with a massive world tour announcement.
The Dark Matter World Tour will hit nine countries and 25 cities, and it all begins with back-to-back shows at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Saturday, May 4, and Monday, May 6, 2024.
The iconic band led by Eddie Vedder will surely play a number of new tunes from the album that was recorded at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu in 2023.
The album is said to have the shared spirit of a group of lifelong creative confidants and brothers in one room, playing as if their lives depended on it.
It was a result of blood, sweat, tears and energy from a storied career being renewed and poured into this one body of work, the band says.
“I’m getting chills, because I have good memories. We’re still looking for ways to communicate,” Vedder said.
“We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”
And while they’ll certainly be showing off Dark Matter in May, fans can also expect to hear all the Pearl Jam classics you know and love from their lengthy career.
As is often the case with big-name shows these days, fans will have to register for a chance at tickets before they go on sale.
Registration must be completed by Sunday, Feb. 18, at 11:59 pm PT, and can be done through this link.
