Pedestrian hit and killed by train in BC late Tuesday night

Police say one person is dead after being hit by a train in Langley.

The incident happened late Tuesday night, with emergency crews getting a call to attend the scene around 10:15 pm.

RCMP officers arrived at the section of train track near Crush Crescent and Glover Road alongside paramedics and firefighters.

They found the person who was struck, but were unable to revive them.

“Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” Sgt. Zynal Sharoom noted in an RCMP media release.

Police are now seeking additional witnesses to the fatal incident.

Anyone who saw the collision happen, or those with relevant dash cam or security footage that could assist investigators, is urged to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
