(UPDATE: July 25 @ 7:35 am) - The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) has issued expanded evacuation orders and alert in relation to a wildfire south of Golden that grew significantly late Wednesday.
The orders and alerts cover properties in the Parson area and you can learn more at this link.
There is still no estimated size estimate from the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) for the Dogtooth FSR fire, but it's certainly much larger than the 133 hectares listed on the BCWS website.
The most recent size estimate shows the fire spreading west, away from Hwy 95, and lists it as 133 hectares.
On Wednesday night, however, the fire seemingly exploded in growth, spreading rapidly to the east.
DriveBC announced the closure of Hwy 95 around 8 pm PT, noting that the wildfire had jumped the highway.
NowMedia will update this story when more information becomes available.
