Another planned closure is set for Hwy 97 today.
AIM Roads says the highway will shut down just north of Summerland between 11 am and 12:30 pm.
“The highway will be closed to all traffic during these times and will be opened as soon as the work and safety assessments are completed,” AIM Roads explained in a social media post.
The contractor advised drivers to continue expecting unplanned 15-20 minute closures as well, which has been the case for several months now.
The slope mitigation work has been ongoing since last August and the closures allow crews to do blasting and rock-scaling work safely.
Recently, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said work will soon be transitioning to a “stabilization phase,” which means less closures as we work our way through the spring.
