I’m a big believer in teamwork. When a group of people with complementary skill sets and personalities can work together for the same goal, big things can happen. This can be especially true in the world of real estate (along with many other professions).
When I started Nyrose & Associates ten years ago, I knew I wanted to establish a team within the larger brokerage setting. By hand selecting REALTORS® who have complementary skill sets and interests, all of our clients can be properly looked after with knowledge, experience and care. I believe all our clients can be best served by specialists who have in-depth knowledge of their market segment, while being able to rely on a full suite of support from the rest of the team.
Many REALTORS® refer to real estate as matchmaking: matching Sellers with the right Buyers or Buyers with the right home. I like to take this concept one step further and match Buyers and Sellers with the right REALTOR®. When a new client walks through the door, calls or sends an email, we know who will serve them best based on their needs, be it neighbourhood, life stage, if they’re an investor etc.
The team REALTORS® at Nyrose & Associates can delve deep into their market interest areas. Each week we meet to report on interesting stats updates, new developments, new sales and data in an effort to ensure everyone on the team has a good understanding of the unique pockets in the Kelowna real estate market. It’s one of my favourite parts of the week because it provides the team members the opportunity to both learn and share wisdom, knowledge and assistance.
With more REALTORS®, we have the opportunity to know and work with more people. This means we have an excellent list of recommended professionals that we’ve approved based on past experiences (lawyers, photographers, home inspectors, home stagers, movers, mortgage brokers, house cleaners etc.).
Simply put, with more people in the office, we know more people. Whether it’s a Buyer for the new listing we’re about to put on the market, a referral, a past client or a friend or family, we have greater opportunity to cast a wider net. Plus we can refer a Realtor® or help people moving to Kelowna find a Realtor® in their current city or when a client is moving out of Kelowna, we like to ensure the client is in good hands in their new city.
I love to watch what others in the industry are doing, stay-up-to-date on real estate trends and chat with mentors and industry professionals. The entire team is encouraged to do the same. We all have different interests and a different network which means when we report back to the team, we all have the opportunity to gain even more knowledge from our teammates.
No one person can know or be an expert in everything. During our weekly team meetings we review current Legislation changes in real estate, upcoming Developments or new apps or gadgets worth investigating for future use with the team. This way, our clients benefit from additional wisdom, experience and ideas. In addition, in a pinch, another team member can step in and provide coverage when necessary, while feeling confident they are up-to-speed with the client’s needs and wishes. Our agents are able to really explore their areas of interest and as a team we can offer unparalleled knowledge of all niches.
While all our team REALTORS® are fully qualified and capable of working on their own, we often pair our agents up for transactions for the further benefit of the client.
With more volume, we’re able to provide additional administrative and marketing support which not only benefits the team REALTORS®, but is highly beneficial for the clients. Showing coordination, listing and contract pre-paperwork, administrative support, client care, and full marketing support means that every aspect of the real estate transaction and customer experience is handled by a trained and highly experienced professional. This frees the REALTOR® to focus on pricing, finding homes, negotiation and contract work, rather than some of the time consumed by administrative and marketing duties that are a part of running a successful real estate business.
