A new Canadian low-cost airline has likely won some fans with their announcement today.
Lynx Air will allow travellers to bring their cats and small dogs on flights with them for a one-way fee of $59.
"We know that for many Canadians, pets are a beloved member of the family and we don't want them to miss out on the family holiday," said Merren McArthur, Lynx CEO.
"This new service is just one of the ways Lynx is making air travel accessible to all Canadians, including some of our furry friends."
Passengers are encouraged to book space for their pets when they buy their own tickets, as there is a limited amount of space for animals on each flight.
The airline requires a minimum of 48 hours notice if you are bringing a pet on board a flight.
The maximum dimensions for a kennel, which must be soft-sided, leak proof, well vented and in good condition, are 41 cm in length, 21.5 cm in height and 25 cm in width.
It must fit underneath the seat in front of you and your pet must stay in its kennel for the duration of the flight.
Other rules include a one-pet-per-person limit and that all dogs and cats travelling must be at least eight weeks of age.
