It’s a sure sign that we’re emerging from winter, and welcome news for those who frequently travel the Coquihalla Highway.
The Lunch Bucket owner Jennifer Hepting has confirmed through social media that the popular food truck is now open for the 2026 season.
It can be found at the Zopkios brake check, near the Coquihalla summit roughly halfway between Merritt and Hope.
The Lunch Bucket is a common stop for long-haul truckers to grab a quick bite without having to stray off their route, but it’s become a very popular stop for the general travelling public in recent years.
"If there is one thing I miss about running the highway, its this food truck right here," one man wrote in response to Hepting's opening announcement. "Made dealing with all the yahoos on the Coq worth it!"
Another chimed in with: "Best food ever and anywhere. Welcome back Jen and crew. You are always missed."

The Lunch Bucket menu has a variety of great road trip eats, from hot dogs and smokies to various burgers and sandwiches, as well as a long list of all-day breakfast options.
You can also snag any number of hot and cold beverages, simple snacks like candy or chips and even an ice cream treat.
While nothing has been shared about 2026 hours, The Lunch Bucket has typically been open from 8 am until 7 pm on weekdays and 10 am until 6 pm on weekends.
