Shooting in residential Vernon neighbourhood prompts large police response

There was a large police response to a shooting in Vernon earlier today.

Frontline North Okanagan RCMP and BC Highway Patrol officers converged on the scene in the 4000 block of 25th Street around 11:40 am.

Police did not reveal many details about the shooting, but said that one person was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

“Although we’re still in the very early stages of this investigation, it’s believed to be an isolated incident and there is nothing to indicate any immediate risk to the public,” said Cst. Chris Terleski.

The RCMP confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

No further information will be released by police at this time.
