We’re right in the middle of that dreary part of winter, after the holidays and before things start to bloom in spring.
A great way to cure those winter blues is to inject some bright colours into your life and there is a perfect opportunity to do that this weekend.
After being cancelled in 2022, the fireworks show at the Vernon Winter Carnival is officially a go this year.
They will happen at 6 pm in the Kal Tire Place lower parking lot.
It will be a choreographed show with a number of unique fireworks and effects, and the whole thing will be matched to music simulcast on Beach Radio 107.5 FM.
“Please listen to the simulcast on an FM radio,” urges festival organizers. “If listening on a cell phone or device, streaming the choreography of the fireworks will not match the music due to lag time.”
Organizers added that if you are going to watch from your vehicle, open up the windows and crank the sound on Beach Radio.
Parking at Kal Tire Place will be very limited due to other events taking place on Friday, so attendees are urged to carpool, take public transit or walk to the site if possible.
