Kelowna businesswoman Renee Merrifield has sat down for her latest episode of Beyond the Ballot with NowMedia video host Jim Csek.
The former MLA had sharp words for the premier of British Columbia as well as Prime Minister Mark Carney.
“If David Eby isn’t scared right now,” she said, “then he’s naive, which I don’t think he is in any shape or form.”
That’s because “he’s losing in the polls,” Merrifield added, despite “John Rustad [not being] particularly strong.”
He “looks very weak right now,” the former BC Liberal explained.
It could even mean the leader of the BC NDP faces a confidence vote, Merrifield said, which would bring with it “some big upheaval.”
The developer also expressed dismay at Carney’s decision to go on vacation as Canada faces various crises.
That behaviour is “very Trudeauesque,” she said, adding: “Trudeau was always taking the most inopportune vacations.”
“I can’t imagine why the man would need a vacation already – he’s barely been in office, and he hasn’t done the same level of travel we’ve seen other prime ministers do,” she said.
