(Update: May 2, 2025 @11 am): BC Wildfire continues to respond to a cluster of wildfires that started along Highway 52 North, about 30 kilometres southwest of Dawson Creek.
Warm, dry and windy conditions have led to increased fire activity on wildfire G70192, which has merged with another fire, G70195.
Yesterday evening, the fire was estimated at 35 hectares. Today, the fire is estimated to be 185 hectares.
The other three wildfires in the cluster are all classified as being held.
Ground crews are actively working to contain the fire, with support from helicopters.
"Southwest winds are pushing the fire toward Highway 52 North, and there is potential for impacts to the roadway," BCWS said.
