Here are the 10 cities most affected by wildfire smoke in BC

Much of BC continues to be blanketed by a thick haze of wildfire smoke as several massive blazes burn south of the border.

On Monday, Vancouver had the worst air quality of all major cities in the world, however, there were multiple communities dealing with even worse pollution.

According to IQ’s Air’s World Major City Air Quality list, BC's largest city doesn't even crack the top 10 most polluted places in the province for Tuesday, Sept. 15.

IQ uses a scale ranging from 0 to 500, where 0 is considered good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 150 is unhealthy for sensitive groups, 151 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and 301 to 500 is hazardous to health.

Several air quality advisories from Environment Canada remain in place for BC's coast and the southern Interior largely due to wildfires south of the border.

Those wildfires, burning across California, Oregon, and Washington, have destroyed whole communities and killed at least 35 people.
