With the Toronto Maple Leafs’ loss to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night, all Canadian teams that entered the playoffs are out.

The Leafs took to the ice at TD Garden tonight for game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference matchups but weren’t able to topple the Boston Bruins, who are 2011 Stanley Cup Champions and 2013 Cup finalists.
When leading after the first period this season, including the playoffs, the @NHLBruins are 28-5-1.

Boston started the scoring in the first period, taking a 2-0 lead. Toronto answered in the second, making it 2-1 going into the final frame but the Bruins pressed on and added another three before taking the win 5-1.

Alongside the Leafs on the western side of the bracket were the Winnipeg Jets, who lost out on Saturday to the St. Louis Blues in a 4-2 series loss, as well as the Calgary Flames, who fizzled out in their first-round matchup to the Colorado Avalanche in a 4-1 series loss.

This will be the 26th year in a row that a Canadian team hasn’t hoisted Lord Stanley’s mug after the Montreal Canadians won in 1993.
