KSS Owls win Okanagan Valley Championship for 12th consecutive year

The Kelowna Owls defeated the Penticton Lakers 3-0 in the final match to win their 12th consecutive Okanagan Valley senior AAAA girls volleyball championship on Saturday in Penticton.

The Owls, who swept the Rutland Voodoos in three straight sets in semifinal play, also earned the right to represent the Okanagan as its No. 1 seed at the B.C. School Sports provincial championship tournament at the Langley Nov. 29 to Dec. 2.

Penticton, who defeated the Mt. Boucherie Bears in their five-set semifinal, has the option of playing in a wild-card tournament at the Lower Mainland for the right to compete at the provincials being held at the Langley Events Centre.

Meanwhile, Mt. Boucherie claimed the bronze medal at the Valley championship tournament, defeating the Rutland Voodoos in their final match.
