It was an excellent eighth day of the Olympics for Canadians in watersports as three medals were won in swimming and one in rowing.
The star of the show was Summer McIntosh, who won her fourth medal at the Games by taking gold in the women’s 200m individual medley.
The 17-year-old finished the third leg of the race in second place and stormed back to finish with an Olympic record time of 2:06.5.
McIntosh is the first Canadian athlete to win three gold medals in one Olympic Games.
