Several temperature records were broken in British Columbia on Wednesday as the province endures a heatwave.
Environment Canada said the following areas logged new temperature records:
Dawson Creek: New record of 31.4ºC; old record of 30.6ºC set in 1960
Mackenzie: New record of 33.2ºC; old record of 32.2ºC set in 1971
Penticton: New record of 36.8ºC; old record of 36.7 set in 1930
Prince George: New record of 32.3ºC; old record of 32.2 set in 1920
These records are preliminary, Environment Canada said, and could be revised.
A large stretch of the BC Interior remains under a heat warning issued by Environment Canada.
The forecaster is predicting cooler weather next week, however, and potentially as soon as the weekend.
