For the sixth time in a row, a series of temperature records have been broken across British Columbia.
But this time there weren’t so many to note.
Environment Canada said the following areas recorded new temperature records on Thursday:
Bella Bella: New record of 22.4ºC; old record of 22.1 set in 2013
Blue River: New record of 33.7ºC; old record of 32.9 set in 2009
Burns Lake: Tied record of 31.2ºC set in 2023
Ashcroft: New record of 38.2ºC; old record of 36.8ºC set in 2017
Clearwater: New record of 35.7ºC; old record of 34.7ºC set in 2017
Clinton: New record of 32.8ºC; old record of 32.5ºC set in 2009
Fort St John: New record of 31.1ºC; old record of 30.6ºC set in 1935
Puntzi Mountain: New record of 33.5ºC; old record of 31.4ºC set in 2023
Sandspit: New record of 22.8ºC; old record of 21.4ºC set in 1998
Despite the slightly cooler weather in the province on Thursday, some areas remain under a heat warning issued earlier this week by Environment Canada.
Fraser Canyon, the North Coast and South Thompson are all covered by the warning.
