Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon included in thunderstorm watch

A thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Okanagan Valley.

Environment Canada says conditions are "favourable" for the development of severe thunderstorms for Enderby, Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton and Osoyoos.

Those storms could bring potentially heavy rain and reduced visibility on highways throughout the Okanagan.

Storm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms.

Thunderstorm warnings are issued when storms, including strong winds, rain and hail, are actually happening and visible on radar or satellite pictures, Environment Canada said.
