A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Okanagan and Shuswap.
Environment Canada said conditions are “favourable” for the development of “severe thunderstorms” on Thursday.
That could mean strong winds, large hail and heavy rain, the forecaster added in its statement.
As well as the Okanagan and Shuswap, Slocan Lake has also been included in the watch.
Environment Canada’s bulletin adds: “Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.
"Large hail can cause significant damage and injury.”
