Wind statement issued for BC Interior roads, gusts of up to 80 km/hr expected

It’s going to be very windy on British Columbian roads today.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for stretches of the Interior.

Southwesterly gusts of up to 80 kilometres an hour are expected.

The forecaster said the gusts are set to keep blowing into the evening.

  • Hwy 3: Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass

  • Coquihalla Highway: Hope to Merritt, Merritt to Kamloops

  • Similkameen

  • Nicola

  • South Thompson

  • Fraser Canyon

  • Chilcotin

  • Lakes District

  • Stuart-Nechako

  • Prince George

  • Yellowhead

Environment Canada added: “Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”
