How did you celebrate legalization day?
Many Canadians lined up outside a limited amount of dispensaries across the country, while others rushed online at midnight to make their first legal cannabis order.
Others, it seems, were using the internet for another purpose, but it had to do with cannabis as well.
Adult-entertainment site Pornhub recently released some interesting numbers from Oct. 17, a day that saw a 206% spike in cannabis-related porn searches.
Leading the way in that regard was a number of east coast provinces, who had access to legal cannabis first thanks to the time difference.
"Canada’s east coast was the first to legally light up after midnight, so it seems fitting that they are historically more likely to search for cannabis related terms when compared to the rest of the country,” said a release from Pornhub.
“Newfoundland & Labrador ranks first, followed by New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.”
British Columbia ranked all the way down at 10th when it came to the number of cannabis related porn searches on the 17th, only head of Saskatchewan, Alberta and Nunavut.
According to data from Pornhub, Canada ranks fourth in the world for cannabis related search popularity.
Believe it or not, Kenya is the top ranked country, followed by Switzerland and South Africa.
