A commercial driver was injured after their transport truck was struck by a falling boulder on a major BC Interior highway Friday night.
According to police, the incident happened on the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) near Three Valley Gap, west of Revelstoke, around 8:45 pm.
The RCMP says the boulder struck the semi and caused it to leave the highway before it came to rest in the roadside ditch.
Fortunately, the driver’s injuries were minor and they were treated at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

First responders were able to keep Hwy 1 open as they managed the scene with minor traffic impacts Friday night.
The semi was recovered from the ditch on Saturday and once again a full closure of the highway was not necessary.
