It’s been three years since Miguel Mack disappeared from Merritt.
He was 24 years old when he was last seen on Feb. 27, 2023. The young man was reported missing to the Merritt RCMP four days later.
The discovery of his remains last spring gave his family and friends a bit of closure, but the investigation into his death, where foul play is suspected, remains ongoing.

Sgt. Robert Kee from the BC RCMP’s Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) says the probe into Mack’s death “continues to remain a priority.”
“Investigators are of the belief that there are individuals with knowledge of Mack’s death that have not yet spoken with police,” he said this week. “We continue to urge these people to come forward.”
To commemorate the third anniversary of Mack’s disappearance, his family is hosting a memorial community walk in Merritt this afternoon.
It will begin in the 2000 block of Coutlee Avenue at 4 pm, then continue to Orme Street before ending at the Civic Centre.
“The family is encouraging members of the community to come out in support and memory of Miguel,” an RCMP release noted.
Anyone with information about Mack’s disappearance and death is urged to contact the SED MCU tip line at 1-877-987-8477.
