Abandoned Rail Brewing is touted as Penticton’s only farm brewery, so I suppose you can call their beers farm-to-table.
Okay that joke may be a bit of a stretch, but as I told you last week I’m currently on paternity leave and might be working on about 20% brain power right now.
As a result, this will be another quick and easy beer column featuring a pair of IPAs from Abandoned Rail that I purchased from a BC Liquor Store in Kelowna yesterday.
I will once again let the brewery do all the work on the descriptions, because I haven’t had a chance to crack either open (although I’m very excited to do just that tonight).
I figured there’s a bit of a red Valentine’s Day theme since one is made with cherries and the other is crimson in colour.

This dark IPA opens with a touch of hop bitterness before settling into a rich malt backbone that carries notes of toasted grain and cocoa.
Finished with juice from the cherries that grow beside our picnic tables, it ends with a gentle tartness that ties it all together.
Showcasing a vibrant crimson hue and a punchy West Coast hop profile.
Magnum sets the stage before Chinook, Cascade and Amarillo build bright layers of citrus, pine, and subtle resin.
A generous dry hop of Cascade and Amarillo lifts the aromatics with grapefruit, orange peel, and a touch of floral character.
