While some people are likely braving the elements and camping already, most save their outdoor adventures for the late spring and summer months.
That time of year is nearly upon us and it’s hard not to be a little giddy thinking about easy-going summer days in the woods or by the lake.
The reason I say all of this is because this week’s beer column features an exciting upgrade courtesy of Camp Beer Co. in Langley.

The brewery announced last month that their Windbreaker Cold IPA is now officially a core beer, which means it will be available year-round.
“Sometimes a recipe comes around that’s just so good you need to make it a part of your constant rotation,” a Camp social media post explained. “That’s exactly what happened with our iceyyy cool Windbreaker Cold IPA.”
Coming in at 6.8% ABV (alcohol by volume), what you see isn’t exactly what you get with Windbreaker.
The brewery explains that “it pours pale and ultra-clear,” and has a “snappy, lager-like profile” hidden underneath its bold hop expression.
Talus and Krush hops fuel this creation, with the former providing vibrant notes of pint grapefruit, citrus rind and a touch of floral pine, while the latter layers in tropical fruit, light stone fruit and a clean, refreshing bitterness.
Now that it’s a Camp core beer, Windbreaker should be somewhat easy to find and it’s now in stock at 36 BC Liquor Stores around the province.
