If you were hoping to ski or snowboard on Mount Baldy this winter, there are only a few days left to do so.
Baldy Mountain Resort near Oliver recently announced that operations will be shutting down earlier than expected on March 29. The original end-of-season date was April 19.
“Mother Nature did not provide us any relief over the last couple of days,” explained a social media post from the resort.
“These are tough decisions and we have enjoyed having each and everyone of you up this season, and will look forward to the last few days ahead.”
While Baldy will still be open for a few more days, it’s only in a limited manner as some operations have already been shut down for the season.
The Eagle chairlift is now closed and the Sugarlump chair is the remaining option for the final stretch of the season. Night skiing and tubing have ended for the winter.
The annual end-of-season Baldy Slush Cup, originally planned for April 5, has been moved up to March 29.
“We will provide an amazing send-off weekend packed full of events,” the resort noted.
Given the Eagle closure, it’s one-chair ticket pricing until the end of the season. Baldy is also offering 25% off all retail and 50% off select items.
