Penticton set a new daily low temperature record Sunday after a chilly start to the day in the South Okanagan.
Environment Canada says the Penticton area recorded a preliminary low of -7.7ºC on March 15, breaking the previous record for the date of -7.0ºC set in 2020.
Temperature records in the area date back to 1907.
Environment Canada said the figures are preliminary and are based on a selection of historical stations active in the region during the period of record.
The agency noted the data does not yet represent a complete or final report.
