A 29-year-old BC man is facing several potential charges after a significant drug seizure earlier this month.
The Burnaby RCMP seized over 97 kilograms of illegal drugs along with $70,000 in cash.
The large seizure was the result of a six-month long drug trafficking investigation, the RCMP said in a news release.
Burnaby RCMP’s Gang Enforcement Team (BGET) executed a search warrant at the suspect’s house in New Westminster on Dec. 17.
The suspect was arrested and now faces an undisclosed amount of potential charges.

During the search, police seized 15 kilograms of cocaine, 41 kilograms of methamphetamine, 30 grams of fentanyl and 41 kilograms of cannabis concentrate.
The RCMP seized illicit drug cooking materials and several money counters.
According to the police, the estimated street value of the drugs is nearly $4 million.
“The production and trafficking of drugs is not a victimless crime. We see its devastating effects daily. The number of potential lives saved as a result of this seizure is immeasurable and the amount of illicit drugs taken off the street is astounding,” said Inspector Matt Toews, Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Services Officer.
“I am very proud of our Gang Enforcement Team but also know there is still a lot of work ahead before this investigation can be moved to the charge approval stage.”
The RCMP said an investigation is ongoing.
