(UPDATE: March 23 @ 3:45 pm) - The avalanche in the northwest corner of British Columbia wasn't the only fatal slide in the province on Sunday.
Police say there was another deadly avalanche two hours earlier on the Iridium Shoulder sky run on Mount Knauss. Four heli-skiers were caught in the slide and only one survived
Terrace RCMP was alerted to the incident at 1:28 pm. Search and rescue was activated, while police and paramedics were dispatched to a local lodge to wait for incoming patients.
According to an RCMP release, the surviving skier was airlifted off the mountain and transported to hospital with serious injuries. The other three victims were confirmed dead and their bodies were recovered.
The BC Coroners Service is investigating both of Sunday's fatal avalanches.
(Original story: March 23 @ 3 pm) - One person was killed by an avalanche in northwestern British Columbia on Sunday.
Mounties received a Garmin SOS alert from a remote area near the BC-US border at Pleasant Camp, along the Klehini River, at 3:26 pm.

According to police, information indicated that an avalanche had rendered one person unconscious and they were receiving CPR.
RCMP coordinated with search and rescue in Atlin, around 500 kilometres away, to plan an extraction.
A helicopter was needed due to the remote area where the slide happened.
“Upon arrival, responders confirmed that one person was deceased,” an RCMP release explained. “Five individuals were extracted in total, with four uninjured.
The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is involved in the investigation. Police released no further details about the incident.
