Another charge has been laid against a man accused of killing his partner in the Lower Mainland last summer.
Mylie Barron, 48, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of 43-year-old Jessica Cunningham.
Cunningham’s remains were found in a Maple Ridge home in the 22800 block of Gillis Place on Aug. 26, 2025.
At the time, S/Sgt. David Lee from the Integrated Homicident Investigations Unit (IHIT) told reporters that Cunningham and Barron were in an intimate relationship and lived in the home together.

While Cunningham’s remains were found in late August, she was originally reported missing in July and had not been seen since June.
On Aug. 29, 2026, Barron was charged with indignity to human remains, which he has pleaded guilty to and expected to be sentenced for on Thursday, March 5.
“As with all of our investigations, it was important for IHIT investigators to continue to uncover the truth of what happened,” noted IHIT Sgt. Freda Fong.
“This was a tragic case, and the details have been hard to hear. Our thoughts are with Ms. Cunningham’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
An IHIT media release says the unit worked closely with the Ridge Meadows RCMP, Integrated Forensic Identification Services and BC Coroners Service on this investigation.
