An investigation has led to charges against a 22-year-old man for his alleged role in a fatal crash two years ago.
Bryan Gass of Wonowon, BC, who was 20 at the time of the incident, has been charged with dangerous operation causing death, impaired operation causing death and refusal to provide a sample where death occurs.

According to police, Gass was behind the wheel of a Ford F350 that collided with a Chevrolet Silverado shortly after 6 am on June 12, 2024. It happened on the Alaska Highway (Hwy 97 N) near Sikanni River Bridge.
The Silverado driver, a 32-year-old Alberta man, was killed in the crash, while his passenger, a 24-year-old Alberta man, was injured.
“These are very difficult times for the family and friends of the victim,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin. “It’s important in these tragic cases that we take the time to do a thorough investigation so that Crown Counsel can consider all the evidence.”
Gass is scheduled to appear in Fort St. John Provincial Court on March 30, 2026. The BC Highway Patrol won’t be releasing any further details now that the matter is before the courts.
