Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Hwy 3.
The warning covers the areas around Paulson Summit and Kootenay Pass over the next 24 hours.

The weather service says light snowfall will “intensify this morning,” with 15-25 cm expected at higher elevations.
The highway will be hardest hit around the Kootenay Pass.
“Visibility will likely be reduced at times,” notes the weather alert. “Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”
The snow is expected to taper off early Tuesday morning.
