Travel is expected to be difficult along a pair of major BC Interior highways over the next 24 hours.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Coquihalla (Hwy 5) and Connector (Hwy 97C) due to “strong gusty winds” in the forecast.

The weather service predicts it to begin this evening and stretch through until Thursday night, peaking with gusts up to 80 km/h on Thursday morning.
“Travel may be difficult due to high winds, especially for high profile vehicles,” the alert notes. “Adjust your driving to changing weather conditions.”
For Hwy 5, this alert comes alongside a snowfall warning issued this morning that calls for up to 60 centimetres to fall on the route by Friday evening.
