A 50-year-old man from Mara is dead after a motorcycle and pickup truck collided in Enderby.
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say the crash happened around 10:10 am on Monday, Aug. 3.
Frontline officers and BC Emergency Health Services responded to the collision on Springbend Road near Highway 97B.
Police say they spoke with numerous witnesses at the scene.
Investigators were told the motorcycle crossed the centre line and drifted into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.
The motorcycle operator, who was the lone rider, was thrown from the bike and suffered fatal injuries.
“A 50-year old man from Mara died at the scene,” said Cpl. Tania Finn of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.
“Police have attended to his next-of-kin to advised of his death and our condolences go out to his family and friends.”
The pickup truck remained at the scene and the driver was cooperative with investigators.
Police continue to investigate the collision.
The BC Coroners Service is also conducting an independent and concurrent fact-finding investigation to determine how, where, when and by what means the man came to his unexpected death.
Neither agency has further information to release at this time.
