The City of Vernon has issued a water quality advisory for Kin Beach on Okanagan Lake, and they’re warning the public not to swim in the water.
Officials said today that the advisory is in place due to adverse weather conditions and higher than allowable bacterial counts.
Signs have been posted on the beach advising that swimming is not recommended at this time.
The city says that the water quality for the beach will continue to be monitored and the public will be advised when it is safe to resume swimming in the area.
