Vancouver Canucks fans will surely be tuned into the NHL draft lottery this coming Tuesday.
After a dismal season, the Canucks have the best odds to select first overall for the first time in franchise history, which would likely mean the selection of winger Gavin McKenna.
But Vancouver fans like myself also know that the Canucks are a cursed franchise, especially in draft lotteries, and they have more than a 50% chance of dropping two spots to pick third overall.
Whatever the results are on Tuesday, Yellow Dog Brewing has just released the perfect beer to help you celebrate or drown your sorrows after the draft lottery.
It’s Brock’s Beer, a new West Coast Pilsner named after forward Brock Boeser, the longest-tenured Canuck and potentially the team’s next captain?

Coming in at 4.7% ABV (alcohol by volume) and 35 IBU (international bitterness units), the brewery says that Brock’s Beer is “built for crisp passes and clean finishes.
“It’s bright, snappy and refreshingly dialed in with a subtle hop bite and a perfectly dry finish,” the Yellow Dog website explains.
Now, there’s a good chance the first thing you noticed when you saw the can is that it shows Boeser as a lefty when he shoots right-handed.
In response to several comments about that on Instagram, Yellow Dog replied with: “Good thing the beer’s tasty.”
That’s a good enough answer for me!
You can find Brock’s Beer on tap and to go in either Yellow Dog’s Penticton or Port Moody tasting rooms, but it’s unclear whether it’ll hit the shelves at liquor stores.
