Police make arrest in connection to ongoing vandalism at Vernon businesses

The North Okanagan RCMP continues to investigate a series of property-damage incidents at Vernon businesses.

According to police, broken glass and other vandalism has been reported at multiple locations over recent weeks.

One person believed to be linked to the recent string of incidents has been arrested and remains in custody awaiting a court appearance.

“The arrest follows steady investigative work by officers across a number of files,” said Insp. Neil Kennedy, adding that the RCMP recognizes how frustrating this has been for local business owners.

“They work hard to operate and support our community, and they shouldn’t have to deal with the added stress of repeated vandalism.”

Kennedy promised that the RCMP will continue to support these businesses and “work hard” to reduce this kind of crime and its impact on the community.

As the investigation continues, police are encouraging anyone with information related to these incidents to contact the North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171.
